What's my engine?

Featured Replies

Probably missing something very obvious, but what engine have I got? how do I find out?

2003 reg Octavia 1.9tdi Ambiente

Answers welcome!!!

In general with VW engines, the engine number (check your V5c) should have the 3-letter engine code at the end of it. There's often a sticker on the cambelt cover with it on as well.

Err a diesel engine :giggle:

Thanks....

To be more specific, I was meaning output and if it was a PD unit :S

Service book, engine block and v5 all have the 3 letter engine code.

Wikipedia lists the engine codes against the different models (some models use multiple engines with the same power output)if you are stuck finding the information just look up skoda octavia.
