Hey all

Basically its my day off to tinker and i want to clean all the turbo piping (EGR, intercooler etc) but i swear ive heard that once the egr has been cleaned it has to be realigned?(probably the wrong word) if so, is it a day job and can it cause problems?

Purely vacuum operated so no adaption needed. You are probably thinking of throttle body.

I'd like to re-align mine and the designer who conceived the half-arsed system with a 5lb club hammer.

Think i spoke to soon, i think i know whats happened but now it seems to hesitate under load, only thing i can think if is that i didnt replace the rubber o ring on the EGR valve, could it be letting in etra air causing this?

has your vrs got the blt engine code? if so u may be feeling the 'stutter' symptoms more now its been cleaned does the hesitation occur at around 1500-1800rpm?

If you left out the o-ring it will be loosing boost pressure! The EGR sits after the turbo in the pressure side of the intake air.

I didnt leave it out, i just didnt relpace it with a new one lol so a ase of replace n hope?

Did you remember to reconnect the vacuum line to the ASV controller on the EGR? Also make sure you didn't get the vacuum lines mixed up. ASZ has one for ASV and one for EGR, they must be connected to their correct locations. Blowing O ring can be traced with a little soapy water solution.

yup both back on but il double check incase, as for the soapy water solution i shall give that ago tomorrow
