Octavia VRS Diesel (Production Delays)

Featured Replies

Ordered a VRS Diesel from local dealer on 04/10/2010 with extras of Leather, Rear Parking Sensor & Bi-Xenoms. Initially given a Week 4 (2011) build but which steadily slipped backwards until I ended up with no build expectation at all.

Today, I have received a revised Week 18 Build which means mid May with 2 - 3 weeks then added for delivery to the dealer. That takes us into early June and 26 weeks after initial order. Dealer explained that the delays are due to a part required for the exhaust system and high demand for diesel engines.

Skoda U.K. have agreed to provide a Courtesy car to see me through to June - No idea what model but it will be fairly new with under 10,000 miles on the clock.

Just an update for those in the same boat. :wait:

As youre probably aware there are lots of potential new Skoda owners in the same boat ( same with VW customers).

Youre probably aware of the compensation setup for these delays, if not a search on the site will provide this info.

Some friendly advice - given you have arranged a loan car from SUK & not the dealer, In your position I would speak to SUK & get the name of the person you speak to along with noting date & time you spoke to them, & confirm that this will NOT affect any compensation due when the car arrives. There have been posts where the claim has been reduced due to a loan car being provided.
