Just had a phone call from my dealer saying that a memo has been received from Skoda. Apparently there is some kind of supply problem at the moment which will delay all orders for TDI PD engined vehicles. Of course this may mean a further delay to my order... all the more irritating as the first one was damaged in transit. Anyone know anything further about this? :confused:

I was informed on about the 19th jan by dealer after he'd been on a dealer conference, I posted it in the thread.

He reckoned another 3-4 week delay. Ha! I wouldn't be surprised if its longer. :( As long as its worth the wait.

Well, I have a spare PD100 engine if they want to make me a reasonable offer for it.

He only mentioned the 2L to me.

Motorpoint have now sold all thier Uk pre reg Ambiente 2.0TDis but Skinners have some imported ones (2yr Warranty) for slightly more at

As I mentioned above, mine's a 1.9 which is a little puzzling! I'll post back once I've spoken to my dealer today.

Dealer, reckoned it was because of high demand for the 2l engine. Although he was very quick to point out there was nothing wrong ie faults, before I could even mention it. hmm!

Well it's bad news for me; my dealer just confirmed my order has been delayed and will not now be built until week 12, which is mid March! :( Apparently there is a 'shortage' of 1.9 TDI PD engines throughout Volkswagen Group. Can anyone confirm this? Ross?

Wouldnt suprise me if the industrial action that the German VW workers were taking over jobs/money/whatever are having an impact now.

Read somewhere today that theres a recall on BMW diesels, due to a problem with a Bosch part, this also affects Mercedes, no mention of VW / VAG, but you never know.

It also stated that there was a shortage of said part :confused:
