Let the Mourning begin

Featured Replies

Ah well, the 'boy (old man) racer days are finally coming to an end. The new Octy Elegence is in the showroom ready for pick up on 1st March.

Can't help feeling I'm going to pine for my beloved vRS :'(

Has anyone had a similar experience who might be able to offer some counciling. :giggle:

(think a Mega blast might be on the cards this weekend) ;)

Replacing a vRS with an Elegance?

Why would you do that!?

Economy, Comfort and STUPIDITY.

I don't blame you.

Being a Scout owner I still aspire to one day being able to own a vRS.

It's gonna be tough, the head is ruling the heart, I always thought the vRS was a great balance between comfort and pace, but your right, at a cost no doubt :giggle:

One last blast is definitely in order!

Get the new one remapped, problem solved

P/X'd my VRS petrol for a 2.0L Elegance Diesel last month . Sure I miss the peformance and the sharp handling from time to time, but I saw no point getting another VRS. I was rarely able to use the performance ,and with soo many speed humps, pot holes and generally desintergrating roads I wanted some comfort.

Now I've got some miles on the clock this diesel aint so slow either once its got moving.

Do miss the part leather though, never thought I would .

Could have went from the TFSI to the CR170 vRS

Best of both worlds emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Hey! An Elegance isn't that bad :D

Some go and handle not badly you know......

All being well my Monaro is going today and being replaced by a vRS petrol. A bit of a step down in performance but I'm looking forward to it.

Good work! On the other side, think of the step UP in economy :D

+1 for the Elegance. The 1.8 flys and without all the showing off.... B)

At least you have a week to rag the @r$3 off the VRS.

Yeah but I'm going from vRS TFSI to CR140 might take a bit iof getting used to.......... mind you it's still 10 BHP more than my previous Furby vRS and it did ok. ;)

I did mapped vRS TFSi>mapped Fab vRS>standard Octy PD140>mapped PD140 :)

Day to day trading 235 for 170bhp wasn't as noticeable as I thought it might be. Shows that more torque does sometimes come in handy I suppose...

Yes, of course it wasn't as quick but in either Skoda since I haven't felt it particularly lacking. You just make use of the equipment you have available I suppose. And I certainly don't feel short changed at the pumps ;)

Be realistic- given the state of roads in Britain today with potholes, crowding etc, how often does a VRs driver really get a chance to use the car to potential? in towns getting away quickly at traffic lights only gets you to the next set before the others, then start all over again. In the country once you are up to speed we all have the same national limit- is 4 seconds faster 0-60 really noticable on a 30-40 mile journey on a motorway in terms of time?

Help- am I getting old and going for comfort rahter than enjoyment- pass the slippers and cardigan :giggle:
