Who bought the xenon headlights off ebay

Featured Replies

They went for £200 a few dYs ago and wondering if anyone off here bought them.

The passenger was was fubared like

Considered it but couldn't be ****** repairing them in the end.

Wonder what you need for a full oem xenon conversion on a non-xenon'd fabia. Would be tempted myself in the long run.

This has been discussed like a zillion times.

You need;

2 headlamps with adjuster motors, bulbs and ballasts - roughly £600 new from a Skoda dealer (if they will sell them to you without the right chassis number)

A wiring loom from a Xenon-equipped car (you'll need to make this up or strip one from a breakers)

A rear-axle tilt sensor (£75 from Kufatec)

A front bumper cut for headlamp washers, washer jets, washer caps, pipework and larger washer bottle (£500 fitted and painted from a Skoda dealer)

A new light switch that doesn't have the headlamp adjustment on it (if you are doing it 100% properly) (£10 from a Skoda dealer if they will sell you one without the right chassis number)

Skoda have tightened up massively on parts as the stocks of 'rare' components like RHD Xenons are dropping rapidly and they won't make another batch up if they can get away with it. As an example there are rumoured to be no remaining RHD/MPH Fabia maxidot dashpods at the central stores, so if one breaks now it has to go back to VDO/Siemens to be repaired or they put a non-maxidot one in instead.

Tech1e's swapped a set over from a donor car, so he would be a good person to ask I reckon.

I was watching them.

I have a spare passenger standard headlight that I'm selling.

I brought them, hopeing to fix them for mine :)

I have never seen a "list" for parts before. :D I wonder how much of the wiring loom is needed as fairly sure the lights are powered from the loom which the entire engine bay feeds from.

Looks like we timed it well chris lol.

I spoke to ross a while back, the wiring is the ****er by the sounds of it.
