Hi All,

I need to remove the drivers seat to replace the seat cover which is now holed, I have been advised to disconnect the battery for one hour prior to seat removal for safety purposes re airbag safety.

Can anybody confirm this is correct please?

Dont know if thats true or not but i removed the seats from my Fabia vrs to fit Audi tt seats and i unplugged the airbag plug under the seats without removing the battery and fitted the tt seats .

I had both sets of seats in and out a couple of times with no problems other than i had to reset the airbag warning light once.

If you do not disconnect the battery (possible but not recommended) then do not turn the ignition on with the airbag disconnected, this is what will put the airbag light on and you will then need VCDS (or a dealer) to turn the light off again.
