shark remap and STS question

Featured Replies

hi all i was looking into getting a shark remap with the STS. problem is insurance wont insure me for a remap but wanted one for track days etc. if i got the STS and reverted the ECU back to stock for when i went back on the road and had an accident would it show up that the car has been remapped as i dont want to void my insurance for having a remap on when its not cureently running one?

what im getting at is does switching between remap and stock flag up on the scans that it has been remapped at some point or once the stock map is on does everything look standard as it is the original coding?

help appreciated

cheers

No, it will have the factory code back in the ECU, so they won't be able to tell.

SOme of the later common rail diesels have flash counters, but I don't think the mk1 fabias do.

you might want to sign up for the current group buy

Mk1 Fabia does not have a flash counter, and when the STS returns the ECU to standard, it is 100% standard
