Skoda Specialist in Aberdeen

Featured Replies

I've just bought a used Octavia VRS & was wondering if anyone knows of a good Skoda specialist in Aberdeen. I'm loathe to use Specialist Cars as they are in out of the way & I suspect not cheap.

Due to a change of office my usual garage will be inconvenient, so looking for possible alternatives.

Reading some of the threads on here you may well want to give Specialist Cars a miss.

Victoria Garage in Maud has a really good reputation but is well out of the way depending on where you live.

There is a VAG independant in King Wells which I've also heard good things about.

Which side of Aberdeen do you live/work?

Live near the city centre & by the time I need a service I'll probably be working in Bridge of Don in.

If your after a true Skoda specialist then I wouldn't rule out Maud. They are an approved Skoda dealer for service and repair and they are a small team of real experts. The Service Manager is a lovely guy and lives in Ellon, to save me going to Maud I drop of my car to him in Ellon and take the curtesy car and then swap over when all done. So I only have to go to Ellno and back rather than Maud.

Ellon wouldn't be too bad from Bridge of Don, just drop of the car early before the traffic and you'd be sorted.

Don't know of any other specialists in the area as of yet

without a doubt go to Victoria Garage in Maud.Great service, never rip you off and you will be much cheaper than Specialist. I have used them for my Furby vRS, current Octy vRS and will use them for my Octy Elegance that I pick up on Tuesday. you'll also save a good few quid. If you book well enough on advance you will get a courtesy car.

Another thumbs up from me for Victoria Garage, I tried them after poor service from the dealer in Inverness and am quite prepared to go out of my way to get service and support of the type they give. Pleasant staff, reasonably priced and very knowledgeable too.

Another vote for Victoria Garage from me too - Danny the service manager couldn't be more helpful, and I'm well out of the way in Orkney!

Have heard all sorts re Specialist Cars and Delmore in Inverness took the complete **** with my vRS Mk 1, so I can't give Maud more of a thumbs up! 10/10 for them - I was even down last week at very short notice with a warranty job. Was completede within 2 hours because they'd ordered spares to suit every eventuality and I even got a courtesy car too. Awesome effort!

Another shout for Danny Taylor and the boys at Victoria garage in Maud. Have had my two Fabia vRS and presently Octavia vRS FL serviced and repaired there for 7 years and can't big them up enough.

My recent experience of Spec Cars, leads me to believe they have lapsed back into bad habits (& I personally thought they'd improved for a while)

See my recent experience - http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/190725-too-hasty-with-praise-brake-warning-light-on/page__st__20__p__2278264__hl__%26%2339%3Bbrake+fluid%26%2339%3B__fromsearch__1#entry2278264

All ended ok, but it could have been a disaster. The only reason I didn't pursue things any further was inconvenience, evidence etc.

On the up side - if you car is over 3yrs old, 'they' now offer a reduced labour rate - about £50 p/hr rather than £73.50. Maybe the same will apply at Maud? The next closest places are Dundee (also Specialist) or Burrelton (on Forfar to Perth road)...Maud sounds like an option for you.

I can't vouch for Maud (yet !) but all these other votes for them, mean I'll seriously consider them for my service in June, even if it is quite inconvenient to get my car out there & back (even if just to Ellon).

Good luck & enjoy the Vrs.
