Window wipers

Featured Replies

Just been informed by the missus at daft o'clock in the morning

That the windows wipers came on without touching the stalk and won't

Go off!!!! Wot is the problem ? Cheers Jono

Could be water ingress / leaking washer pipe into the rear window motor.

Or maybe a faulty switch on the steering column. You could try some switch clean.

In the short term you might need to pull the fuse.

Hi there,,,For the sake of it,,also get the relay looked at..I had a similar problem with mine, and it was the relay that went. It's located under the panel by the foot pedals.

Most likely water ingress in the rear wiper motor.

Most likely water ingress in the rear wiper motor.

I was recently told at my cars service that the rear wash was leaking into the boot (when used)

I had a look in and the water pipe had come off so I reattached it and started using it again when needed, worked fine for a wek or so and then started leaking into the boot. Around this time the front windscreen wipers started working all by themselves. If I had the rear switched on it stopped them but otherwise they kept going no matter what I did with speed selection. After a week or so of this happening it stopped, I used the rear wash again and it started again. So my solution has been to not use the rear wash, everythings fine then :)

Its on my TO FIX list, I think that the pipe must have come off again so Im gonna get a cable tie on it see if that fixes it :)
