hello i had a look under my cover over my engine as my exhaust emissions light come on and i located what i think is the egr valve and there is lots of oil around it!! does that mean this will be the problem and ill have to take it off and clean it?

hello i had a look under my cover over my engine as my exhaust emissions light come on and i located what i think is the egr valve and there is lots of oil around it!! does that mean this will be the problem and ill have to take it off and clean it?

EGR valve will be faulty, the diaphragm inside the valve will have split. Vacuum can no longer open the valve hence the EML. Fault code will be EGR flow rate outside of expected limits.

i have a spare one for an ASZ engine...
