Coloured bumper repair

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Octavia Estae with coloured bumpers to front and rear. My son has unfortunately just nudged the front bumper on a brick wall, leaving two or three minor marks - hardly visible. The bumper is intact and rather than get a new bumper I would be keen to see if I could fill the small dents and respray.

Could anyone tell me what is the likely plastic being used in the front bumper? Is it ABS or Polypropylene?

Is it likely that someone like Halfors would have a plastic repair / filler kit for the plastic?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum mate,

In answer to your question, it would be a big help if you could post some pictures of the damage, but until then I'm sure Halfrauds will have a wide variety of fillers suitable for the job.

You may also find you get more response if you post in the styling and care car forum.

i had some small marks on my rear bumper after someone reversed into it and drove away. No breakage of the plastic but there were a line a small dents on it. I decided to use a local smart repairers whi basically sanded the area down to flatten it and then resprayed.. As it needed sanding, it then needed resprayed, half of the bumper was resprayed to ensure the blending into the original paint. Cost me £120.00. Nobody can notice that its had any damage as a result.

Many thanks for the answer. I was quoted similarly, but it seemed a lot of money for some blemishes.

I know, i was expecting less but when they explained how much needed resprayed for such small damage, i understood. Thing is, the OCD within me couldnt deal with havingthe damage so i had it done :)
