I'll flash and wave if I see any of you

Chatham docks perchance? You'll be only a couple of miles away from me but alas you will not spot me as I'm not picking up my SM till Tuesday (11 plate  ) I'll be on the road 90 mins before Andrew (HMIBennett) as picking up at 09:30 :giggle:

Not quite, I was at the Holiday Inn on the Maidstone Road attending a seminar on Hypotrophic Cardiomyopathy (I'm a sufferer and waiting for an implantable cardiac defibrillator) emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Left there at about 4.30pm feeling very tired and with a slight headache as the room was stuffy and too warm with no natural light emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Added to that the talk by Dr McKenna was aimed at medical students and PhD graduates (of which I am neither) most of it went straight over my head,emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Hope you felt better after a run in the SM.

As a Gravesender born and bred, I have to say that nothing good ever came out of the Medway towns.

Thanks for your kind words hmibennett.

It does, but I'll still need some heart surgery emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I do not understand? I'm not sure if you are trying to cause upset (to everyone from North Kent) or I've mis-interpreted your comment?

A usual jokey forum comment, shirley?

Indeed - no insult meant to North Kenters (of which I am one, of course).

Hope you felt better after a run in the SM.

When I first moved to Higham in 1979 ( Halfway between Gravesend and Strood) we went to visit Rochester and Chatham. It was like visiting a Dickins novel.

Yes, indeed. My school cross-country runs used to take us past many 'Great Expectations' sites (the old forge in Higham, for example) and some of my ancestors come from out on the marshes at Cliffe, but I usuually keep quiet about that (although better than Essex - now I'll run for cover).
