bloody leds....

Featured Replies

So, this weekend I'm getting rid of my leds. The ones in the sidelights are too blue, and I've noticed that they are starting to fail. The ones I put in the number plate light have given up the ghost completely. Bloody things. Will be replaced with standard W5W bulbs. Also upgraded main beam bulbs to Xtreme Power H1s, but have yet to road test them fyi see if there's a noticeable difference.

Leds.....nice idea but not up to the job yet.

Did you want the W5W bulbs to be white?

was originally looking for a match with my xenons. Even bluevisions are a poor match. But yes, ideally.

You should try Ultra 501s from ebay Clicky

thanks but doubt these will match with xenons. The first lot of leds I got were great but packed up when the temps got to -10 before Christmas.

The outside bulbs on my Ibiza have them in on this picture :

Mine did the same so I binned them and put standard bulbs back in !

They look nice but a waste of time IMO

Do you have xenons to match them against? The Philips Bluevisions look great on their own, but still yellow when compared to the xenons.

Send Hauptmann a PM he had access to some CAN-BUS friendly white LEDs which are a perfect match with Xenons, and they've been really reliable for me so far.

Mine have died aswell, they briefly came back to life when the temp went up but both are now dead :( Shame as i really liked the look of them

Had my 1W leds in for nearly 2 yrs now and they still work perfectly (ebay job @ ~£1-2 each), but i've had 3 sets of rear numberplate ones and that seems like a no go :(

I've replaced the interior bulbs with leds, from the same seller, and they've been fine. Could just be the external temps? Or is it heat from the headlights that kills them? Number plate ones have been a complete waste of time....
