Intercooler pipe leaking a tiny bit of oil

Featured Replies

My Inter-cooler pipe on my 2006MY PD140 is leaking a little bit of oil.

Not much, but enough to get on the under-tray.

I had this checked a few weeks ago, and the clip wasn't located properly. The mechanic (who is time served, very good, and my cousin) said it was nothing to worry about, the amount of oil in the pipe was nothing to worry about as it was only a few spots and that this is quite normal on these engines, all of them have oil in the inter-cooler pipe.

Anyway, when he had it apart, the rubber 'O'-ring didn't look too clever.

So, does anyone know the part number for the rubber 'O'-ring in the inter cooler hose where it connects at the bottom on the front near-side of the car close to the inter-cooler. It is almost directly above the air scoop in the under-tray.

Should I be replacing any other parts? The metal 'U'-shaped clip as well?

Thanks

My Bora has been doing it for a good few years now! Wouldn't worry about it....especially if you saw the oil coming out of the 'turbo' pipes on our Fiesta Vans at work

Not worrying, it just leaves a drip on the drive I could do without!
