Right, had the Octy for about 3 weeks now and after much deliberation ive decided to upgrade the Stream HU to a Bolero which ive bought from another member.

Ive basically read very post i could on the subject of new gateways, and coding with VCDS, but ive totally confused myself as to how to do it correctly.

I have a Bolero with code arriving in the next few days, i've ordered a new "AD" gateway from 'Carsystems' in Poland and i have a full copy of VCDS.

Can anyone advise me of how to code it all with VCDS as im a complete noob with the sotware. Alternativley is there anyone within 50miles of Newmarket, suffolk willing to guide me through it?

Any help / advice is greatly welcomed.

I fitted a Bolero in my 56 plate vRS and it was plug and play (apart from the aerial connections which needs modifying) just fit it in and it asks for the code which you input using the touch screen, this code will be stored so if you remove/refit or disconnect the battery it will not be required again. Also if you wish to refit the Stream that will not require the code unless it goes in to another car.

The only reason a gateway upgrade is required is if your car is fitted with a gateway older than revision 'K' as there was issue with battery drain. Cars newer than 57 plate are generally fine.

What mod did you do to the aerial connection - is it the same as the Columbus and you need a dual Fakra splitter?

have a look onthe mk5gti forum, I got mine for 70 quid posted from a member on there, revision AD.
