Hello

I've had problems with the electric window motor in my drivers door and had some of these symptoms. I think it is also known as a common fault.

You may have to end up replacing the window motor. Water gets into the electrical control unit attached to it and is sold as one unit.

It will cost you £200 new but between £25-50 second hand.

Take off your door card, (don't forget the two big screws hidden inside the interior door handle, prise it off)

Peel back the membrane, you'l see, Start undoing the bolts, you'll probably need to remove the glass to be able to read the part number fully.

This part number differs slightly throughtout the years and the last three or four digits will be all important.

I reckon your part number might be 1U6 959 802 B 05S and there's a new one on deutsche-parts at the moment £65.

Good luck. Oh and I'm not saying it's definitely the motor at this stage some people would say check that the pins in the plug haven't corroded these also suffer from water ingress.

Matt.
