Some of you may have read that i had the blocked oil feed pipe problem :'( Well the mobile mechanic has been at my house for the last 5 hours and has fixed it. He took the turbo off and the fins on one side were fine, spinning freely. The exhaust side however had snapped off and was lose! We replaced the turbo and its running sweet as a nut, the engine seems more smoother now but that could be just me!

Thanks to everyone who helped me through a **** week with there advice

Feel glad for you mate.

Remeber if the oil light comes on STOP!!!

Doubt you'll forget now though

And he replaced the pickup pipe, right?

Yes i was very lucky! With new pipe, oil, turbo, guy to fit it and the money spent on taxis and stupid stinking buses for a week, has cost about £300. It could of been £1500 very easily.

I know this oil pick up thing has been mentioned and guides put up for ages, but i cant stress how important it is to do. I would seriously recommend everyone how hasn't replaced it yet to do it NOW!!!

Count your chickens & use good oil too :)

Hope you went lightly with the sealent, there's a queary that too much sealent is the cause of the blocked pipe due to the vrs sumps getting replaced due to damage

Well i think i put just the right amount on, who knows how much is gonna sqeaze out on the inside of the sump. When i fitted it there didnt seem to be excesive amounts dripping off lol!

Not sure on how true that is.......

I would imaging that it is coincidence that the pick up pipe was already blocked(or partically) when sump was being replaced and as the pick up pipe was not replaced with sump change, the concequence was seen shortly after.

My theory anyway..

Congrats another resurrected vRS

well done not to bad after all ;-)

A very lucky escape!!!

One thing you shoul never compromise on is oil.... I change every 5k regardless of anything.

Steve :)

The sealant bead should be between 2mm and 3mm diameter. Much more than that and some of the sealant squeezed between the sump and block may break off.

I should add you only have 4-5 minutes from when you start the bead to fitting the sump. The sealant starts to cure very quickly.
