Which bulbs?

Featured Replies

I know this has probably been discussed a million times before, but I'm looking to replace the HID kit that I currently have with a set of decent halogen bulbs.

I've got a cheapo H7R HID kit in at the moment, and despite being very bright, they give off too much scatter, and we all know that they will start failing MoTs soon.

Looking at Osram Nighbreaker+ from Powerbulbs or the Ring Xenon Max from Autobulbs Direct as both are a similar price, however Powerbulbs have the Philips X-Treme Visions which supposedly are 100% better, but they are nearly £37, which seems like a hell of a lot for a pair of bulbs.

I don't mind paying for quality that will last though. What are your experiences with them?

i have the phillips ones

very happy with the output of them had them around 6-7 month no problems so far.

i've heard the osram aren't that good, don't last that long apparently.

have a look around can't remember how much mine were.

I've used them a few times and have easily saved the £12 spent on the

Freedom membership in discounts just on what I've bought from there

let alone what I have saved at GSF and other places

just bought the following from Powerbulbs using the good old Freedom discount:

Philips X-treme Vision H7

Philips Blue Vision H3 4000K original

Philips Blue Vision W5W

Philips Silver Vision PY21W

I'll go for the X-Treme Vision then I think.

Don't suppose anybody has any comparison shots with one normal and one X-Treme bulb?

Just an update on these.

They are obviously no where near as bright as the HID kit, however, as the light is not just scattered everywhere, and it's actually focussed on the road, they provide much more useable light, and I can actually see better in the dark B)

A very worthwhile purchase me thinks.
