Cheapest place to buy a new VRS?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just wondered if there was a known supplier that was offering an above average discount on a new VRS right now? I gather from a few posts that -20% and a few freebies is about as good as it gets? Has anyone found anything better since these deals were posted?

Im looking at pricing up a Candy White VRS (possibly an estate even) with the black roof and chrome/black alloys with a number of options... including, hopefully, given availablity, the new 'black' pack thats been announced (black grill, black headlights ala the Monte Carlo). B)

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I found that with the current VAT free offer they weren't willing to negotiate on anything other than stuff like gap insurance to be honest.

Oh and just go to the local dealer.

Agree, don't think many people have managed to wangle much extra money off. To be fair its already a cracking deal with the VAT offfer.

Good choice of colour/wheel. Everybody knows the white with black roof and dark chrome alloys combination is the fastest... lol ;)

the "dark" option would probably go well with white.....

i found the best place i could find was allelectric.co.uk (birmingham dealer), who were offering 22% off instead of 20%, and this was on all extras too. contacted them the other day, and they put up their prices, duno if they are still discounting more than 20%, but i went to my local dealer to price match the dealer in brimingham and they accepted:) happy days

Hi,

Just thought i'd mention that the roof colour options are not available on the estate. It makes do with gloss black roof bars (to match the wing mirrors I assume).

Cheers

Hi FocusZtec,

I'm after a new GL2 Hatch and going on various websites (Drive the Deal, Car file) they came out about £500 cheaper than a skoda dealer. For example, a GL2 with Maxi-dot through the dealer is £11,627.50 through DTD £11,142.22 (difference of £485.28p), now ive been to 3 dealers in my local area seeing if they would negotiate on price etc or even get a little closer to the DTD price and all have flatly refused to negotiate as they are apparently only making 1.5% and said for £500 would i risk not getting the dealership customer service etc. From the DTD website looks like you do get a dealer etc so atm im considering my options but thought id let you know my experience thus far.

Have drivethedeal actually confirmed that price? I had loads of brokers advertising deals that didn't exist for the vRS

Thanks guys, thats all really great info.

I had missed the fact that the estate cant be specified with the black roof - thinking about it Im not sure it would work well on the estate anyhow...

I'll start ringing round at the weekend, many thanks once again. :)

I also agree, with 20% off its stonking value for money! Unfortunatly I always end up adding nearly all the options and its getting to 20k on the configurator like this... still, you pays your money and takes your choice... :)

One other thing to bear in mind if you go the broker route is how you actually get the car. Some expect you to travel to the dealer - could be expensive if they're miles away. Others deliver to you but if delivery is even included in the price somebody will drive your brand new car to you which is something I just couldn't even think about doing - otherwise you'll have to pay extra for delivery on a truck.

Yeah this is all true and tbh i think i will be going to the dealer myself....The point of my argument was that the dealers arent really moving on their prices at the moment because theyve also got the 20% vat offer on..
