Changing Front Wishbone Bushes

Featured Replies

Hey

going to be doing this soon, replacing my old wishbone bushes with poly ones just wondering if there any special tools required to remove the old bolts or anything just head of the console bolt or whatever it is looks different?

any help cheers

Euan

Front bush doesn't wear and can be re-used. Front bolt for wishbone can snap on removal so have fresh bolts ready. Console bush has been revised and is a much better option than a poly bush, which gives harsh ride, more vibration. New bush must be aligned to console EXACTLY or suspension geometry will be wrong. You need a series of bolts/nuts and large washers to extract and fit new bush.

It's a two hour job at dealers, but more like 8 hours DIY and a load of swearing. Tracking will need to be checked/adjusted after new bushes fitted.

The bush center is a hexagon, and this must be aligned to marks on the console carrier. It's the rotational angle of the bush that's critical.
