Fabia vrs high tick over

Ever since i have replaced the battery my fabia has developed a high tick over, it will tick over at 950-1000 rpm weather its hot or cold..

Any ideas thanks

Coolant temp sensor?

Car thinks engine is cold so is running on choke all the time... Saying that mines used to sit at 1100rpm when this happened

I was thinking off a cooling sensor, but wondered why when i changed my battery why the vrs idle is higher and i now have a horn sound when unlocking the car. Wondered if i get it on Vagcom if i can change the horn and idle...

Horn can be turned on & off, but I don't know it would suddenly activate itself. vagcom will diagnose a faulty sensor causing the high tickover, but you cannot adjust it with vagcom.

Thats funny then cause the horn never sounded before and now it does with a fresh battery, ill get it on vagcom to check everthing.

i think this might be normal? mmine does it too occasionally but soon reverts back to 800rpm by itself or with a quick blip of the throttle

I dont think people are understanding my vrs is always at 950rpm weathers its cold or hot, Are there any other ideas other than a cooling sensor which i think is located in the Rad ant it. thanks

Thats not a high tick over.

Its higher than the 800 rpm that it should be its as if the high chock is on all the time..

Does anyone have a tick over at 950rpm all the time cold and hot.

Change it with vag com.

When I used to have the vibratecknics dogbone mount in it vibrated like mad so I upped the idle

I have hurd alot about this vagcom is there a way of downloading a free copy that will enable me to do this thanks alot...

my normal idle would be 850 then high idle would be 950-1000ish

On a cold day it will idle at 950 ish and drop to 850 ish when warm.

Module is mounted on the accelerator pedal. Drivers parcel shelf out, three nuts and pedal can be removed, and module replaced.
