Fabia vRS 2005 (55) One owner from new

Featured Replies

Well with my wifes new Octavia vRS getting nearer to delivery, the time has come to put the trusty Fabia up for sale.

I'm holding off putting it onto Autotrader or Pistonheads until the private plate has been put on retention but I thought I'd stick it up here first.

I believe this is one of the cleanest and tidiest vRS' around.

It was first registered in September 2005 making it a 55 plate.

It has been owned by my wife from new and it has covered only 48,000 miles.

It has a full Skoda main dealer service history, including timing belt, tensioner and water pump change which was carried out at four years old as recommended by Skoda.

MOT and tax until September 2011.

It has the usual vRS specification which includes the following;

130bhp 1.9TDI engine with 6 speed manual gearbox

16inch alloy wheels (near-new Pirelli’s on the front, good Falkens on the rear)

‘Climatic’ Air-conditioning

CD player

Electric windows and heated electric mirrors

Height adjustable drivers and passengers Sports seats

ASR traction control

Trip computer

Alarm and immobiliser

With the optional addition of;

Diamond Silver metallic paint

This is a standard example which has never been re-mapped or lowered. The only modification is the addition of the 312mm brake set-up from the Audi TT.

This addresses the only real weakness of the standard Fabia package and comprises larger discs and brake calipers along with new caliper carriers. These provide greater stopping power than the standard vRS brakes.

The standard calipers, carriers, discs and pads will be included in the sale and can of course be re-fitted to the car before sale if the buyer would prefer to have the standard brake set-up.

The rear discs and pads were replaced in September so are like new.

I have both flip-keys and the plastic key and all invoices for any work done to the car since new.

Details of the service history can be seen below;

1st Sept 2005 - 0 miles – West End Garage, Broxburn- First registration and delivery

1st Sept 2006 - 9,865 miles - Chatham Skoda, Dunfermline- 1st Annual service

3rd Sept 2007 - 19,455 miles - Chatham Skoda, Dunfermline- 2nd Annual service and Brake Fluid change

26th Aug 2008 - 28,237,miles - Chatham Skoda, Dunfermline- 3rd Annual service

27th Aug 2009 - 37,722 miles - Chatham Skoda, Dunfermline- 4th Annual Service, Brake Fluid change, Timing Belt, Tensioner and Water Pump change

31st Aug 2010 - 43,978 miles- Chatham Skoda, Dunfermline- 5th Annual service

In the interests of being completely honest with potential purchasers, I always like to declare any areas I feel are not 100% perfect. The only things I can think about on this car are;

There is a slight scuff to the o/s front alloy wheel, two marks approx. 1inch long on the very outer rim. See pics of the wheel below.

There is a scratch on the roof caused by someone putting a traffic cone on the it for a joke. The scratch is about 6 inches long but due to where it is it is not noticeable.

There is also a small scratch on back bumper just above the exhaust- approx 1inch long.

This really is a fantastic example, you will struggle to find a better looked after Fabia vRS. I am a keen detailer and the car has always been washed regularly using the best techniques and products, it is waxed regularly and machine polished when required.

The interior was treated with Autoglym life shine when new and so the light grey parts of the seats are still relatively clean (these seem to become very grubby on other Fabias I have seen).

There is no outstanding finance on the car and it has never been in an accident. All panels and paintwork are 100% original.

Please note the registration number shown in the photos will not be included in the sale, the car will be returned to it's original '55' plate.

We will be sad to see this car go but a growing family means we have ordered a new Octavia vRS to replace it.

The car is located in Kirkcaldy, Fife which is about 25 miles north of Edinburgh. Kirkcaldy is easily accessible via road or rail and I am happy to pick-up any potential purchasers at Edinburgh airport.

This car is definitely worth travelling to see!

Davey G- you're supposed to big it up BEFORE it's sold! :rofl:

We will be very sad to see it go, it's been a great wee car for nearly six years. :'(

First brand new car either us had bought.

It was a tight squeeze that time the four of us went to Aviemore in it though eh!?

As Dave (paramaniac) said, he has now paid a deposit for the car and all going well will pick it up in a fortnight. :thumbup:

Really didn't expect it to go so quick, but thanks for making it a pain free sale Dave :thumbup:

These cars really do hold their value well.

Wonder what mines worth. Similar mileage to this one and also in great condition but have a few mods done to it.
