HTC Desire pairing problem

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've had my superb for a year and been using the columbus and a samsung phone. Just got a new HTC Desire and tried to bluetooth together, it finds the Desire but then says its not compatable, I thought HTC would work?

Please can some one who has accomplished this help me.

Thanks

Simon

You need a phone with Rsap - you may be able to get it to work by rooting it and trying to install a RSAP module. If i were you though i would send the phone back under your 7/14 day cooling off period and get a Samsung Galaxy S as this is the only Android phone to have RSAP out of the box.

Hi,

As I mentioned in another post, I got the 7P6 Premium BT kit and a HTC Desire HD phone. This setup works 100%.

I guess you need to change your BT module in the car or get another phone. HTC Desire is not rSAP compatible, meaning fx BT kit 3C8 will not work.

Simon

I brought my superb just before Christmas last, it worked immediately with my HTC Desire.

I believe that there was a software update Oct,Nov. time last year which could account for

your problem.

From memory there are alot of posts regarding the HTC Desire & compatability issues on the forum.

Hore you resolve your problem quickly.

Regards

Norman

The update was more than just software, its a totally different piece of hardware.

When you say hardware, what do you mean? My Superb is registered Jan 09.

Can I add this or who has added it?

Simon,

See the post just a few threads below, which says's rSAP to HandsFree - Success!

It's posted by Me.

Your car has a Bluetooth system, where the car, reads the sim cards info, and then becomes the phone, effectively shutting down the phone, as a phone!

your HTC desire, does not support this.

It is NOT a software fix, but there is new hardware available.

Hi I have new Superb with Bolero. I have issues with BT on HTC Desire Bravo. HTC desire HD looks working fine. So probably hardware issue with Desire Bravo. Will check with Wildfire.

Hi are you saying the HTC desire HD is working with your skoda columbus?

To make your Desire HD or Desire work, plug in a 3.5mm sterio jack cable into the phone and into the AUX socket on the central console. then set the rado to AUX and put the phone in a holde on the vents or windscreen. Make sure the phone knows to use it's internal microphone. You can then use it without problems but wont hear it ring if you're listening to the radio. Not a perfect solution, but it works

UK cars didn't get the new bluetooth module until MY11. Production of these cars commenced on the 22nd June 2010. If your car was built before this, then you have the old rSAP only bluetooth module, and your Desire will definitely not work.

As ukcruiser has mentioned, you can swap out the old bluetooth module for the new one (which I've done), and all Android phones I've tried work brilliantly. It's the best £100 you'll ever spend, and is really easy to do. It's just plug and play.

Andy.

He He, Thanks Ray :)

My Desire worked perfectly with my A4..................until the last Android update. It still works fine, but it won't import the phone book anymore :(

Im about to send my HTC Desire Bravo to service for possible BT hardware issues. Desire connects for 1 min and then pair is gone.I try my HTC Wildfire and my wife's Wildfire and then N96 and all connects and keep connection with my Bolero(Bluetooth "PREMIUM") without any issues. So I do belive it is problem with BT hardware

on HTC Desire(Bravo).

Cheers
