Anyone know what that black line is?

Featured Replies

SWMBO got her new Fabia Elegance last week and we've noticed there's a very very thin black line running from the top centre of the front screen to about two thirds of the way down. Anyone know what it's for?

its an aerial for the dual tuner.

OK, but being being intellectually challenged I'd appreciate a bit more detail if you could. Dual tuner?

The radio has 2 aerials for diversity, one on the roof and another in the front screen, hence dual tuner.

Ah, so that's it. Simples! Thanks

Why the Fabia has one in the windscreen when none of the other models seem to, no one knows!!

Roomster does!

Yeti does too.

My Octavia does

Mmm..Yhat will be all models then!!

Isnt it 1 aerial for fm, and one for am frequencies....

BTW, my 60 plated Octy vRS doesnt have it, but my wifes 10 plate Fabia does

If your Octavia vRS is an estate it's usually in one of the side rear windows.

They are both FM and AM, one helps the other in weaker signal areas. Give it a try, remove the roof antenna and you will still get radio reception. If you have a columbus you can get into the hidden menu and see the signal strength of each aerial.

As mentioned, if you have an estate then the second aerial is located on one of the rear side windows.

Well bugger me, so it is!

And how many times have I washed it.......

Now write 1000 times

I must pay more attention

Cheers Guys

Steve

Hmm, I stand corrected... although no Superb owners have come forward yet (so not quite 'all' models), and my 60 plate Octavia "hatch" doesn't have it either :giggle:

was'nt the black line a trim level in the older models B)

My wife's Fabia Estate DOES have the line in the windscreen but my Superb Estate doesn't!
