A chap at work has an ST24 running about 200bhp, what are the odds vs a standard vrs? I reckon from 40mph it'd be pretty close but he disagrees.

Standard ST24 is 174bhp iirc... ST200 has 200bhp....

ST24's are lardy but I think it would still beat a Fabia vRS. Now a chipped Fabia will be different.

Rubbish.. he's talking up the figures.... you need the ST200 manifold to get to those figures, I looked into the differences between the two engines when considering them...

Will be 185 at most.... imo.

Still quicker than the fabia vRS though IMHO.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I dont think there'd be much in it... the other day I was in the right hand lane and there was a Vectra 2.5 v6 in the left hand lane. We both went past the speed camera the speed limit and then both floored it and I did get past them, much to their surprise / anger / disgust

My tuning boxed MK3 TDCi Mondeo beat a stock ST24 at Elvington, a ST24 with 200 bhp would give a remapped vRS for it's money, but it's all torque because once that 300 lb/ft gets down you'll be suprised to see almost any car pull anything on you. I couldn't quite believe that a Bugeye WRX couldnt keep pace with me through the mid-range, I just pulled away.
