octavia vrs estate 03 plate

Featured Replies

Good Morning i am new to the forum and i am a tad lost!

Ive got a skoda octavia vrs estate and never had any problems until now, ive ran a diagnostic and it found no faults however first thing in a morning the car starts fist time with no problem but its very very lumpy the revs drop as though its gonna cut out and when pressing the accelarator nothing happens its as though there is a delayed reaction and the car realises i have my foot on the accelarator and it better rev!

Try a throttle body clean buddy fairly simple to do whip it of and use some carb cleaner also there s a small gasket that can be replaced costs a couple of quid from the dealers.

I has same issue as you not so long ago tb clean and a new cts sensor cured the problem :-)

Could be a few things the temp sender can cause it or the Maf or if its only for just over 90seconds the secondary air pump

Agreed, that's where I would look first. Replace the Coolant Temp sensor, & throttle body clean.

clean the throttle body first mate. My car was lumpy as hell when I first got it, cleaned the throttle body and it was smooth as silk.

After i replaced my cts sensor for the newer green one my fuel consumption is slightly better, the car runs alot better from cold aswell cts is 28 quid plus vat remember to get the o ring with it.

do a diagnostic scan and see what comes back . and depends what u mean by lumpy ... if u mean it sounds like a tractor and running rough then id go for a coil pack

i ran a diagnostic and it come back clear!

Please can any one post a pic to cts sensor location, gonna have a go at cleaning the throttle body over the weekend

also the rear wiper had decieded to stop working last night! i noticed 2 days ago it was really slow and now it dont work at all but i am thinking or just replacing the boot lid i have a abit of rust just below the rear windscreen and the paint is starting to flake off, not having much luck at the moment am i!!!!!!

The rust on the tailgate is a known problem & i think skoda still rectify it or contribute to the repair(i may be wrong though!)Wont do any harm to call in at your local dealer & se what they say!

There is a 7 year (iirc) anti-corrosion warranty, which might help. It depends on the dealer you see. I had mine fixed twice, but when I went in for a 3rd time they told me I was outside of the warranty period (the Skoda approved body shop did a cr@p job), and the bloke I saw then picked the lacquer off, and now it has none rusty too (previously the silver paint has just gone white).

The initial problem:

Later problems (work workmanship from the bodyshop):

And then it got worse:

It was then resprayed (again), but it has started to go again now... :(
