Does my Superb have a DPF?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just a quick one really: booking my car in for a service (first service since I bought it), and I'm struggling to figure out whether it has a DPF in it or not. According to the manual, only cars with 7GG in the Vehicle Data Sticker have a DPF. My code reads 7MB, so I'm assuming it doesn't. But every post I read on here seems to indicate that all Superb II's with a Common Rail engine will have a DPF fitted.

My car is a 170CR Superb II model (58 plate). Confusingly, on the Vehicle Data Sticker, it is described as TDIDPF. So I'm well and truly confused!

I only ever really drive short distances around town, and cover less than 3,000 miles a year, so I think I'll ask for the variable service inteval to be switched to fixed intervals. Thoughts on this also welcome!

Kind regards,

Declan.

Yes the CR170 engine is fitted with a DPF,

I agree with you that fixed serviced intervals will be better suited to your mileage.

The 2.0 170 CR has a DPF. The type of driving you are doing is extremely bad for a vehicle fitted with a DPF, the salesperson should have explained the exhaust system to you at purchase and given you a printout from Skoda.

Keep a very close eye on your oil level, if it seems to increase get it changed, also change it more frequently, I only do about 12,000 a year now, quite a lot of short runs some only about 15 miles, lots of traffic jams and crawling in traffic but a decent number of long runs on dual carriageway and motorway, I change oil and filter at least twice a year.

I would suggest you search the Forum on DPF, also Google.
