I've accidentally drained the gearbox oil while doing an engine oil change. Does anyone have any advice on a DIY refill?

It a ZF auto box 2005 and seemingly only one drain/fill plug.

It gets filled up from the bottom, but you need diagnostic equipment to set it to the right level.

.. and some sort of clever pump arrangement to throw the oil up as the filler plug is not directly accessible from the top. And you either need to drain some off or, more likely, tell the ECU what the level is cold/hot, things like that... I know this is not a DIY job, so took it to a main dealer. I would get it towed to a specialist or main dealer and let them sort it out. The oil is around £15 a litre and you will need 6 litres of it. While you are there I would also get them to change the filter in the auto box, these need changing (depending who you ask!) every 40k or 80k miles, including the oil.
