As per the title really. Just curious as I believe we're not far off the MY change over.

What I've heard, the changes should normally happen around build week 22. Can check that more exact tomorrow.

Well as I am wk 14 fingers crossed changes are small :D . Don't want others to suffer the downgrade in quality/spec that has been discussed but equally don't want the spec to improve too much, selfish I know :moon:.

Not going to wait another 8 weeks plus for MY changes.

I've been thinking the same... knowing my luck I'll either get my Superb before the MY12 changeover and miss out on some snazzy new standard fit item... or it'll get delayed again and they'll drop something from the standard equipment list

Agree with both of you. My build week is next week, 11. Anyway, I want my car before the summer, therefore I can live with some small changes in MY12...

I haven't heard about that many changes in MY12. New logotype would probably be the biggest change.

The MY11 came out on May 25th,

I would personally be more worried about items no longer being std on the car, or built using cheaper materials, as this appears to be the way Skoda are going

Hy Guys,

sorry for being a bit slow, but what does MY12 stand for and why is it so significant.

cheers,

macker.

ta very much for that. Could the changes between the two be quite significant.?

macker.

Yes the changes brought in are generally done on the new MY, these can be either an improvement or just as likely something being dropped from the std specification (especially on the lower spec trim level - S & SE)

gizmo, thanks for that.

I was just slightl worried as I am in the process of getting the elegance signed off and didnt really want to hear that dramatic changes where afoot.

Yes. For example a major change in the MY11 Superbs was the new premium carkit, which accepts now the "old" HFP profile as well as quite a few other improvements (UMTS compatiblity etc).

Dont forget it lost the Brollie in 2011 too!

So how does this work then? If I've got a confirmed order for a MY11 car (ordered in wk7 and currently with indicated build in wk19), but the erratic build scheduler slips it beyond the MY11/12 boundary (ie into wk22, say), does that mean I have to accept the new spec (assuming it has changed) for better or worse? Or does it rather mean that the order effectively gets renegotiated and I then have to decide whether to accept the changed spec or not?

Basically you have to accept the new spec because in all the brochures they have the small print stating to the effect that Skoda reserve the right to change specification without notice. This is the case for all manufacturers brochures that I have seen.

Some dealers will make up the difference, for example those who had no umbrella asked the dealer who provided it free of charge.

I believe that small print in brochures refers to changes that affect you as a "brochure owner". Once you sign for a new car, you have valid document what you have ordered and there is no small print in that. There are always some changes, but for major one buyers are having choice to change their order. Usually changes are in favor of buyers, but I do remember that you can get even old spec car if you are stubborn enough and willing to wait. Manufacturers have powerful weapon for negotiation - "your build week will be delayed"...

Both the above were on my MY11 built week 44 last year.

Does anyone know what Regency Green looks like? I have an Amazonian Green SE Estate on order.

+1, mine is already delivered and I have all the changes above, including the new symbols (ESC instead of ESP). So the above changes are not MY12 changes. The only thing coming, what I've read is the ventilated seats.

Well, the Skoda App on the iPhone makes reference to... wait for it... "ventilated front seats" Can't see them ever coming to the UK though!!

Thought all cars had those, especially when driving standards/weather conditions deteriorate :wonder:
