Featured Replies

In the past recent months i have seen an increase in designs on the engine covers in VAG cars. e.g. flames etc. Anyone know details of this i./e if it is a new cover or painted original? and if so how much and where from??? Thanks in advance!!!

You can actually buy real carbon engine covers... look quite neat, but are a bit pricey at

I painted mine yellow to match the car, but did not like it so I may have one spare if anyone is interested P.S (it is for the octavia) :)

I've seen an R32 engine cover painted in marble effect by JBS. Looked like quite a bit of labour is involved though as it's gonna need de-texturing first.

agree... you'd need to rub the surfawce of the engine cover flat before using heat resistant primer and more rubbing down to make the cover smooth and flat before putting any paint on it.

i had a colour coded rocker cover on the R19, it looked really nice IMO with a few other dress up bits. not sure about flames though...

An easy way to create flames is as follows:

Take one disposable plactic cup and cut it down to about an inch tall.

Fill with lighter fluid.

Place on top of engine.

Start engine.

Rev engine and bounce car to encourage spillage of lighter fluid.

HI

I will post some photos when they arrive :)
