Skoda Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

I've finally got myself a 2005 vRS, in silver.

The milage is 112,000.

Question:-

Are there any problems, or things wearing out, to expect on a car of this age/milage?

Any feedback will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Might be best to ask a mod to move this to the fabia section as the guys on there will know more about it. 112k is nothing for a modern diesel as long as its been serviced on time,it may be due its 2nd cambelt replacement at 120k.

enigine will go on forever, others:

camblet

waterpump

turbo

console bushes..

if they haven't already been replaced, expect them to go soon (the waterpump and cambelt should have been done in the service schedule)

Clutch and flywheel

Leaky rear doors

Some have coolant loss issues ( fauly heater matrix's ) split pipes

Coolant temp sensor may be iffy

Brake pedal switches can be faulty too ( noticeable by glowplug light flashing and no brake lights )

Turbo's are weak too

Thanks guys. That;s gave me plenty to think about....

leaking rear doors and clutch.

Mines on 102k remapped from nearly new and on the same clutch.........if you look ater it it will be fine!

I believe the standard KKK turbos (some early PD130's had Garretts?) are a bit rubbish, so I would start saving for a turbo replacement. I'd suggest fitting a more robust Garrett when you do, too.
