VRS Ordered

Featured Replies

After test driving on Saturday I ordered today in Rallye Green with Black Alloys and Heated Seats (keep the misses happy).

Cant wait to get it, will miss the boot space on my Octavia vRS but not paying the road tax its like a second insurance!!!

Is there anything I need to know or options that I have missed that really need to be put on.

Good job and welcome to the madhouse.

So many options people favour over so many others so unfair to say.

See my signature for what i ordered (quite a few). My reckoning was that I came from cars that had some of the options as standard before the vRS plus with the VAT offer I treated my self to the built in sat nav which i never had before, it seemed the right thing to do with the VAT off and finances allowing at time of ordering - and since owning glad I did !

However everyone on this forum is different.

Keep us posted on the build date.

Good work, for the money they are a fantastic little car. We were after a small cheap estate car, I wanted it to be quick so the vRS seemed to be the perfect car for us.

I would personally say that the car doesnt warrant having many optional extras put on it. It's very well equipped as standard. I'd steer well clear of the big money "nice to have" options and limit it to must haves and make the most of the VAT saving.

Hello :)

Quite a few options there, would love the sat nav but i think i'll stick with my old tomtom :(

Will keep you posted on a build date as soon as I get one. Just hope it doesnt disappear into the skoda blackhole like my octavia did. Do you know roughly how long people are waiting the dealer said late May

For the money i couldnt argue its going to be £60 a month less than the Octavia VRS CR and it seemed much more fun to drive, it had a lot more personality than the Octavia.

Thanks for the advice on extras I think i'll leave it with just the heated seats :)

Have you taken delivery of yours? if so how are you finding it?

Rear electric windows, nothing worse than having had a rear passenger and finding out they left the rear window open a touch (whilst you are driving).

I love my sunroof best B)

Me too! Both my Fabias had sunroofs - and so will my next one. Before that, my Golf GTI's had them also. Apart from the fresh air and light, one advantage is that they stiffen up the roof and make the car quieter.

Yes been told may mind you we will see, such a long way off.

Looking around on the forums about options, I was quite surprised so many people go for the rear leccy windows. Personally speaking the only time any window ever gets opened on any car I've owned is when I need to get a car park ticket at the barrier etc. With a/c as standard why do you need to open windows and let in all that filthy dust. I suppose smokers need an open window but anyone smoking in my car would soon get set on fire themselves! I read soneone on here saying that they had electric rears fitted as they had kids, but I'd have thought that it would be just an extra button for them to press and annoy you with.

I understand we're all different, and I'd love to hear others' opinions - just personally speaking I wouldn't be bothered if the rear windows didn't open at all.

With electric rear windows you can disable them from the front so the buttons don't work in the rear. With winders you cant do anything about kids messing with them.

Aah, there's one explanation then - thanks. I suppose you could break the handles off lol - bit extreme I guess. In my experience though, kids are generally too lazy to bother with winders.
