New VRS Ordered.....And Almost Delivered!

Featured Replies

Managed to strike a good deal with my local dealer on a new VRS over the weekend. They had a couple in stock, but one was a completely basic blue one with black wheels, and I really wanted cruise. Asked them about retrofitting and they said it was really difficult to do as they have removed the wiring from the loom now, quoted me £450 + VAT!!

So I went with the one in the showroom. Slightly odd spec, but good. Blue with white roof, white wheels. Sat nav, cruise, bluetooth prep and steering wheel, parking sensors and leccy rear windows. Got it supagarded, mats and luggage net and half a tank of fuel thrown in too. I could have picked it up in a couple of days but don't need it til the end of the month, so can't wait now!!

It is possible to get one in a hurry if you need to and are willing to be flexible on the spec / colour front.

If anybody wants a standard blue one with black wheels give Fish Brothers Skoda in Swindon a shout! Tell them I sent you, I might get a full tank of fuel... :)

Glad I'm getting back into a VRS after the absence of my old yellow oil burner.

Why on earth would you say a thing like that!? :o

Haha only kidding mate, you will love it.

I had mine within 2 weeks, but it was because it was an ex-demo.

Like you said, some flexibility does wonders to the order / receive time.

Hahaha. Only reason is I currently have a company car, changing jobs. Hand it back when I leave at the end of the month (and yes thats a Skoda too, Octy 1.8TSi, only 6k miles on it!!). Figured I would have to pay for it so I would put it off as far as I could. Delivery will be 28/29th. And lets face it the 28th cos I won't be able to wait!!

I had thought about the ex-demo route, but would have reservations as they are bound to have been 'pushed quite hard'. I know, I test drove one!! ;)

lol... I had mine within 7 days... was stock at a ford garage wierdly enough! lol... wan't a demontrator (obviously) 14 miles on the clock... the green with white wheels did it for me ;)

Many congratulations, hope you enjoy it.

Pictures etc please once you pick it up.

Did you have to select that as an option, mine came with one as standard emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Nice spec by the way

Thanks guys, I'll get some pictures once I have the keys, I have one of it in the showroom just to keep me going ;)

On the steering wheel thing, it seems a bit weird. You get the bluetooth prep, then you need to add the steering wheel controls, despite the fact that the MFSW comes as standard. And it adds another £150 to the price. Just had a look on the Skoda website, the blue prep is just to connect your phone, the steering wheel adds phone controls to the already MFSW. Don't know how it differs from a standard one though... And they seem to have got very confused with the pictures, shows a 4 spoke MFSW and a manual gear lever for some reason! :giggle:

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your purchase fella.

Oh and I did REALLY want a green one with a black roof, but time constraints were a problem. And now I keep seeing a green one around Swindon, its just there to taunt me!! :'( At least it only has 12 miles on the clock... :D

From my point of view the colour combo is perfect.

Sounds good emoticon-0148-yes.gif

On the MFSW front, I think the phone prep version has some more buttons on it, compared with the std MFSW. Still confusing though!

I see what you mean, but there's enough vw badges on all the parts, don't want another one!! :giggle: :giggle:

I meant more for the alphabet order :)

Looks great ch1ccn

Just to be clear on the MFSW with phone prep? Does your steering wheel have extra buttons on the right hand side of the wheel. I've got my vRS arriving shortly with this specked and can't find a picture of this £150 option anywhere, tad annoying, on that note if anyone has a picture to hand could they post one up?

Cheers.

Funny you should ask that, I was just looking into whether it was actually fitted or not :wonder:

There aren't any extra buttons, but it does work the phone options :)

Really not sure what that £150 gets you tbh :S Don't know what the standard wheel would do with just the Bluetooth option. Guess it doesn't work the phone.

Looks very nice, I considered that combo and went silver and black, but I like the blue with white and white wheels.

Also love the 'XYZ' at the end of the plate. Never seen that. I know its random, but nice job.

Nice car the white roof and wheels work well with race blue B)
