Anyone fitted a tuning box to a 1.6 TDi?

If so what difference has it made?

A lot of people on here will discourage you from using a tuning box and go for a proper re-map.

From what I believe, it doesn't really alter the engine properly , it just tricks the car into thinking it is at certain parameters, unlike a re-map.

I may be wrong, but a lot of people will still discourage tuning boxes.
