Changing Front Grill - Octavia Mk1

Featured Replies

Hi there, Introductions etc. Recently taken the plunge and bought a Klement and Lauren Octavia tdi130. Brother's always raving about his passats and the quality of VW diesels (torque, economy, handling etc etc etc etc )so thought I'd go one better and get something a bit more exclusive than the VW but with the same quality and economy. So far so good, pulls like a train, returns 49mpg and quieter than what I've previously had. (Audi 80 tdi)

But....... I want to get rid of that massive chrome grill. With a dark blue motor it just cries out 'bling' everytime I see it.

So,any suggestions as to a decent black debadged grill? I've had a look at one of the Skoda 'goodies' sites and theres one that retails around £80.

Is that it?

Also, need to get a spare set of wheels for the winter, with winter tyres on so I'm looking at steel rims (from another model?) Any suggestions as to what to go for. I've been told that 5 hole A3 wheels will fit and older passat ones.

Thanks for looking at this- I'll keep people posted as to the progress over the year. Hope to have this one for some time.

Safe motoring ED
