Superskoda honeycomb grille

Featured Replies

I did not get any instructions on where to cut the lever, where would you cut it if you had to do it again

Hi cookster, answered your PM, sorry for the delay as I am not on here much nowadays as I don't own my VRS anymore. I traded it in for a Focus RS earlier this year.

My advice would be to experiment with the length of the bonnet release lever, as I said above I followed the instructions I got with my hoenycomb grille and felt that I could have left it a bit longer to allow me to reach the thing through the grille. So cut some off, test and if all is well then leave alone, if not then cut another inch off.

Oh, while I am here, the place that I traded my VRS into for the RS Focus appears to have now sold the VRS so if the new owner ever appears on here can someone do me a wee favour and drop me a PM? Purely because I would like to see that it is in good hands!

I also have the honeycomb grill but I never cutted the lever. Only bent it to the side so it won´t touch the grill.

@Oobster - you should paint black this white "Y" that is visible now and does not look good :)

here is my white version of the grille, with citigo logo - I think it looks much better then with old logo...

the grille is not from superskoda, it is complete grille, not just the insert. I have choosen "window" version for myself, I did not want to cut the lever

Lec78 I love the look of it in white with new badge, I also like the headlight conversion and front bumper, where are these from?

Lec78 can you tell me your website address again please

Rather than cut the release you can just bend it with a pair of pliers. Did when i fitted my grill ...but mines pre-fl. Works really well.

Can you upload a photo with the grill and the bent release? Would like to do the mod myself and that will be helpful.

I also bent mine, will take you a quick pick now.

here ya go, I warmed it a little with a hairdryer first then just bent it gently by hand (excuse the dirt)

For people cutting holes in the grill for the release lever, you do realise you don't even need to use the lever. Just pop the bonnet, it will then lift enough to get your hand under it and then just release the catch from the slam panel. Fitted mine recently and bent the lever to start with but then noticed you don't even need it to release the bonnet catch.

Thanks for the photo D@z...

Hi lec78

That grille looks really good. The honeycomb also looks to have smaller "cells" and to be less "open" than the Superskoda one - like a finer "mesh". Am I right,or are the photographs deceptive?

Where did your grille come from, please?

the Superskoda grill matches really well, its just mine came with a really horrible finish, it had a marble effect through the plastic, so I had to spray it matt

does anyone have a grill with out the slot for a FL version?
