1.4

Featured Replies

So i have a 1.4 fabia as i cant afford insurance on a vrs or even anything with a bigger engine, i am getting a set of vrs alloys for it and was wondering should i get a vrs badge for the front grille and maybe one for the boot too, would this be advisable, i dont want to pretend i have a vrs and if anyone asked i'd tell them ofcouse its not a vrs! but i reallly like the look of them, and the badge on the grille helps set them off!

any suggestions?

thanks

I'd say no. People would laugh if they knew.

there was a tidy 1.2 classic that had all the trimmings to look like a vrs. It had an audi tt leather interior as well I think.

Cant remember who's it was but had air suspension and stuff. Looked tidy but I guess it was more of a show pony to be driven low and slow rather than a performance **** waver... lol.

No, because the VRS has completely different looking bumbers. So it'll be obvious it's not a VRS anyway which will make people raise an eyebrow.

But at the end of the day it's your choice.

No its like the kids that have a turbo badge off a Porsche on a little corsa. It's just funny. Id say get the wheels, and bumpers and debadge the car. Will look smart, especially if your car is a non vRS colour.

I'd say no...I know what you mean, as I had a similar decision to make myself. My Elegance does have the vRS bodykit, but it's a colour that was never offered on the vRS so that's a dead giveaway. Maybe get some custom badges made up if you really want something on the grille?

Think that was Stuart Hatch's 1.9 SDI :)

put vrs bumpers on

can be picked up on ebay for not much £

il get the wheels and maybe a plain fabia badge for the front, il not get the bumpers as car might be getting sold in next year, wheels will be easily flogged off again , (hopefuilly) thanks for inputs :)

Or £60 gets you the bumper kit off eBay, looks cool and it's not pretending to be something it's not.

I've got just the front on mine, prefer the smooth back of the standard bumper when lowered.

what do yous think of just putting the 16 inch vrs alloys on the 1.4 and leaving it at that? no lowering etc

Look better than standard, but tbh if bot lowering I'd get some nice 15s from somewhere in the VAG stable.

For the record, I didn't put them on mine to copy a vRS, I put them on because I prefer it :) Hence why I stopped there and didn't put vRS badges on :D

Agreed, if you're leaving the Fabia's monster-truck ride height alone then the 16'' and 17'' wheels can actually look a little bit 'lost' if that makes sense.
