Dealer Servicing

Featured Replies

Having just bought a 10 plate 1600tdi SE octavia from Rainworth Skoda with a 1st years service im surprised to find all they apear to have done is an oil change on the car i would have expected pollen filter and fuel filter being done as well so can anyone advise me as to what is done on an anual service as it seems a secret from Skoda themselves as i am still waiting for a response to a previous email to them

Also as a selling point the fuel consumption seems high compared to our 1.9tdi we traded in

sorry but another queerey should the engine top out at 2500rpm when stationary the engine revs fine when in motion

The engine rev is the car self limiting to prevent damage. The service you had is an "oil service", which is an oil change plus visual checks. They would check the pollen filter next year. I changed mine myself as it was full of crud after 10months.

You should have a check list done by the tech who serviced the car, it will detail what's been checked.

My first annual service (fixed mileage - maximum about 10K I think) was not much more than oil and filter change plus a "check" over the car generally.

Much more is done at 2nd year service, as specified in the service record book.

What is the mileage?

I would be disapointed to have anything more than an oil change and visual inspection on a first service.

13,500 miles at first service another thing was driving on the motorway today the soot warning light came on on the dash but cleared ok on driving another 5 miles r these things getting too computer orientated?

Mine was below 7K per year, so I can't really complain !!

I recently traded in a 1.9 pd for a 1.6cr and I am getting 57 mpg (actual) over the last 3 tank fill ups from the 1.6, which is about 7mpg better than the 1.9 was. why would you want to rev the engine above 2500 rpm when stationary?

Mine has the longlife service but did ask to check and change oil at 15k.

They checked everything and did change oil and the oil filter, nothing else.

At home I did open the air filter box to see and it was quite good, at 30k is ready to be changed.

Pollen filter lets just say that the best is carbon activated, lots€€€€, but lasts ???? depending where you live and drive.( don´t last long )
