Milltek Exhaust sound

Featured Replies

Wish someone had the Fabia vRS one :( I can't believe no one has a mobile phone that cant do even a bad video recording and then just send it to and email. Quicktime can play .3gp movies (mobile phone video format).

Think your best bet would be to meet up with someone...

I know but who has one around the Yorkshire area :(

Think i'm just gonna plump for the system and worry about what SWMBO thinks later.

Six days time and I'll have mine fitted.

I'm planning on doing a before after sorta thing, so I'll get that to you next week.

Cheers

Your still not trying hard enough then, I've had my standard one down into the mid 20's :P

Absolutely, i had to travel 20 miles cross country to get home in a hurry and the trip computer upon stopping said, 23 minutes travel time and 24.6 mpg mind you i was giving the poor thing some serious stick and traction control switched off !!! Much faster without it. Oh and it's standard too.

I'm just about to go record my exhaust, gona use a camcorder. So how exactly do you go about doing something like this? Will I just record then rev it slowly up to 3000, then rev it a few times or something....?

Hold on if I recall theres some on Milltek site, I'll do what they do.

Probably best to have someone hold the camera whilst you do a drive by. Then do a standing start whilst someone is holding the camera

Best things come to those who wait....as I found out today. Had the remap and Milltek exhaust fitted at Star Performance  Very Pleased!!!

Anyway, I've recorded it last night and today, just at the standstill giving it some revs, then sitting at 3500 for a couple of seconds (thats when the hazards flash so you can tell when) then pulling away. As you'll see from the video, its not overly loud at all, its only marginally louder than the standard, but the noises it makes are a lot nices, you can hear the turbo spinning up quicker and you can also hear an owl like sound coming out of the exhaust, like a tweeeet-twoooooooo sorta thing. As you'll also see from the video it pulls away a lot quicker - glad my mum moved her Pugeot else you would have some nice footage worthy of You've been framed :D

As I was filming tonight my lil niece appeard behind the car and watched what I was upto - thats who you can hear giggling with glee when I pull away - it wasnt me honest ;) ...Okay I was doing the same, but thats beside the point.

Video size is big-ish (1Mb) and in .WMV format, I tried to keep a bit of quality in it, theres a 230Mb version available on request ;) .

Cheers

But not boy racery in the slightest.

Sounds excellent

What kind of power and torque figures have you got now mate after the Star remap and have you fitted the cupra intake and green filter?

Yeah, green filter, cupra intake, strut brace, switchable remap and Milltek exhaust. Never thought I would ever want to modify my Fabia....thanks Briskoda :P

Had some wheel alignment issues on the day, they should have been all good as I had them done recently but unfortunately the car wanted to climb out of the rolling road...thanks Kwik Fit!

I'm going back to Star Performance to get the wheels aligned properly with their kit, then going on the rolling road for printouts, figures etc. Will be about a month before I can get back as I'm busy busy over the next few weeks but I'll let you know the figures when I get them.

Its estimated at 180bhp....but in real life terms - the improvment is this :) :) compared to this :D:D:D:thumbup::D:D:D

Definately highly recommended. Switced back to the standard mode today, its still good for normal driving (I do a lot of commuting) just not as fun. The exhaust on its own also makes a big difference. I found the car accelerates more with less effort and throttle as the turbo spins up quicker.

Thanks for this thread - I was swithering over the Milteks but I want to spend all my pocket money now. :D

Didn't know about Star Performance either, I'll have to go check them out !

Just out of curiosity (not that I would ever want to be such a ****, in fact I'm asking this on behalf of a m8 of mine, its nothing to do with me )

Which system gives the most OTT boy-racer type growl?

None will be that loud/growly as diesels just aren't as loud.

if you can hear it over swmbo and the soundtrack then that is a miltek on full chat :D
