Service indicator out of sync?

Featured Replies

My Ocatvia was serviced by a Skoda retailer before I bought it in August at around 37k miles. The car now has 45k miles.

Today the service indicator came on telling me to service in 800 miles or 165 days. Implying it's on annual servicing, not longlife and that it thinks a service is due at around 46k.

I wouldn't expect a service to be due until 12m after the last one (so around August 2011) the service book has next service at 56k or August 2012?

Did the workshop forget to reset the service indicator? Or did the workshop think it was on longlife when it's actually set to annual servicing?

Looks like they set you to fixed servicing - 9500 miles.

Double check that they used LongLife oil and go back and get it set to variable servicing. If they didn't use the LongLife oil then you are due a service regardless of what they put in the service book!
