MY12 Updates

Featured Replies

I know some of you have been waiting for the MY12 information before placing orders so here you, a few changes nothing too different.

The symbol for power steering and the symbol for handbrake on are changing slightly, and the positions of the indicator symbol, handbrake symbol and washer level warning light will be changed on the dash panel.

ESP is being renamed to ESC (Electronic Stability Control) on the maxi-dot and I presume in the brochures too.

The alloy wheels fitted to the S, SE and S/SE Greenline models are changing too. They will be changing to a new design called 'Nevis' which looks really nice. post-28670-0-82806700-1300702785_thumb.jpg

Perhaps the most interesting changes/additions are the colour changes.

Sadly Tangerine Orange is going to be replaced by Bronze metallic which is darker and like the name suggests more Bronze than orange. So those of you with Tangerine Yetis are going to be a rather exclusive club!

Storm blue is going to be replaced by petrol blue, Amazonian green is going to be replaced by Regency green.

Also a new colour to the range will be introduced, Safari metallic which I'm really looking forward to seeing on the Yeti

The colour changes aren't happened exactly on W22 they are changing through out the year. Starting with Storm Blue going at Wk16.

Hope this is useful!

UPDATE - 22 MARCH

The Yeti SE (MY12) will have 17" Dolomite alloy wheels not 16" alloy wheels as stated above. My fault as I misread the information.

Thanks James, any idea of what Petrol Blue and Regency Green will be looking like?

James,

When do the 12 year changes come into effect?

And when would a new Yeti Greenline be built if ordered now?

Richard

The orange changes sound great! I always though the Tangerine "orange" was more a muddy brown dull colour. Something more copper like will be very, very nice! Not so sure about "bronze" though. How is that different to the Safari?

I like the new wheel design too! So the one I saw in Paris on the Yetis on the stand was not the new design?! What was that then?

Just had a play with Photoshop, the new 'Nevis' Wheel... :p

More comfort, greater appeal: the 2012 model year

Entering the new model year, the Yeti will receive numerous visual enhancements based on the colour and design packages. For the first time, two-tone colouring – as seen in the Fabia – will be available. Customers can choose between four different shades of roof, feeding the Yeti’s personality and making striking contrasts. There are also two new metallic colours, Malachite Green and Lava Blue, which give the compact SUV’s body a particularly elegant touch. Design package Reef, which can be ordered for the Ambition and Experience trim levels, includes protective side mouldings, two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and silver roof rails. The visual innovations are rounded off by the new 16-inch Nevis alloy wheels.

Comfort and functionality can also be enhanced by the new optional folding tables fitted to the back of the front seats. They will be appreciated by passengers of all ages and interests and can be used for play and work. The front passenger seat can be folded forwards completely, adding even more variation to the interior. This dramatically improves the ability to transport long objects, and in other cases it can serve as a convenient tabletop.

From the 2012 model year, the upgraded Amundsen+ navigation system with factory-installed maps will be available for the Yeti. Customers will be able to take their pick of two versions of maps: Eastern and Central Europe or Western and Central Europe. Destinations can be entered using a postcode of up to seven digits (the coding used by several European countries). The navigation device also features a CD player and radio, which can optionally be complemented with digital DAB radio reception and a Bluetooth module for handsfree phoning while driving.

On freezing winter days, the Yeti’s optional independent heating remote control is sure to come in handy, enabling the driver to start heating the interior at the breakfast table so that the car is just the right temperature when it’s time to leave. When parking in narrow streets or when driving through narrow openings, the convenient electric folding door mirrors can be activated.

Hi James, thanks for keeping us updated. Can we expect to hear any further updates of the 2012 spec or is this it? The reason I ask is the above press release mentioned a DAB radio option, electric folding mirrors and roof colour options.

Have Skoda UK for whatever reason renamed Lava Blue and Malachite Green, Petrol Blue and Regency Green? Also the new Nevis Alloys are mentioned in the above release but say they are 16-inch as opposed to the current SE spec of 17-inch alloys. So will they be offering a 16-inch and a 17-inch Nevis alloy for the different spec's?

The spec changes comes in to effect as of Wk22 (30th May)

They may make other amendments to the spec throughout the year but for now this is the information available to us.

From what I can make out the Nevis wheels are only in 16" guise, so that means that Wk22 onwards Yeti SE will have 16" alloys I guess, makes for cheaper winter tyres!

mmmmm. 16" wheels........

Anybody want to buy a set of Spitzbergs?

Nice photoshop!

I like them.

They remind me of Porsche 993 Turbo alloys. Kind of.

Maybe not. Still really cool though.

Nice... Now that finally DOES look like bronze. If I was to get another Yeti I'd be very tempted by this colour.

I'll be on the look out for some decent samples before ordering but the bronze does looks good from the small swatch provided. Although the blue seems to be a wildly inaccurate representation of the existing Storm Blue so the new bronze colour could end up being nothing like the sample provided.

I think it is an entirely new colour, I was hoping to find a photo of a Golf/Polo/Touran/Ibiza/A3 in that colour but doesn't seem to be one.

I like unusual colours so for me the Bronze looks like a nice addition.

Interesting the S and SE will share wheel design where as each model at the moment is immediately distinguishable by its standard wheels (apart from the Greenline SE sharing with the S models already). The Nevis wheels look lovely, although still want to see a metallic red Yeti!

Those wheels do look nice. Shame the 16" wasn't an option on the standard vehicle.

James,

Looks like you've got the order for my Mum's Greenline Yeti.

So that's one MY12 Yeti you'll already be ordering. :D

Sorry, struggling to link in this forum but copy and paste the URL

hehehe Yes you just use the icon above with the tree in a photo! THEN paste the URL.

Here are some more pics in that colour:

And that is YUCK! I want a copper one (like the Sportage).

Just go to the Seat website and download the Ibiza brochure. Plenty more pics there in this colour. It is called Tribu 8R8R

I'm in a Photoshop mood now so here is a rough idea what the Bronze would look like against an actual photo of Tangerine using James sample.. :)

Yes That does look good! I like actually. On the Ibiza it looked yuck and too yellow. But yours is a tad darker and looks better!

Bring back the Tangerine :'(
