Looby - This forum is vastly improved by people with too much time on their hands! The colour swatches mean nothing to me but when you put them onto a car suddenly they spring to life.

I hope you have got the colour right, Petrol Blue could be the new Tangerine! From despair to joy.

Yep we like that blue!! Let's hope it's what Skoda are intending...

Chris

It looks similar to this colour on the Tiguan:

I think this colour below would also look great on a Yeti:

UPDATE - 22 MARCH

The Yeti SE (MY12) will have 17" Dolomite alloy wheels not 16" alloy wheels as stated above.

My fault as I misread the information.

Shame, I'd prefer 16" wheels on our 1.2 DSG as it's only used for pottering about.

No chance of a downgrade/alternative I'd guess.

Perhaps a wheel-swap thread might be a good idea - perfect for those buying new (and used, to a degree) where an S owner can get bigger wheels for nothing more than the fuel costs and those in SE/ Elegance can have smaller wheels without having to watch a salesman scratch his bonce.

Job done.

I agree. It seems a shame Tangerine has gone from the list before most people have had a chance to see it for real! And I suspect the new Bronze will be rather too close to the present Muscavado for my wife!! We had both agreed on Tangerine, and while I liked Muscavado she didn't. We've got a Storm Blue Octavia, which only really shows it's true colours in the sunshine - other times it just looks like a flat dark blue. I was hoping that the new petrol blue would be a brighter blue, but this now looks unlikely too unless James's samples got reversed.

I've a feeling my yeti in rosso brunello will look like that, when it arrives.

Current average lead times for a 1.4TSi SE Yeti are circa ~15 weeks.

We are currently Wk12. If you wanted to order a Yeti in the Bronze I would take the order but not actually submit the order for a few weeks just to ensure that your Yeti is built after Wk22 in the new colour.

So lets say we ordered in Wk14 (4th April) 14+15 = Wk29. Delivery would be third week in July and this would be a MY12 Yeti in the new colour.

Hope this helps!

1.2TSi takes longer to come. The 1.4TSi and the 1.8TSi 4x4 are the quickest to get of the petrol variants.

Hello James,

Ordered a 1.2 Tsi Elegance, manual transmission with spare wheel and front parking sensors from my local dealer (in Deepest south of England!) 6 weeks ago and was given week 15 build, with you stating that the 1.2 tsi takes longer to come do you think this is realistic or should I expect an ever distancing of the date?

Andy

I must say that all these change seem quite exciting to me - especially the bronze colour. I like the idea of a Yeti with a loud colour, and I reckon that bronze will suit the car nicely.

Just a quick question - does anyone have an idea on when Skoda will get around to issuing a new brochure? Conflicting information at the moment on the Skoda site, as the sunroof is available on the configurator, but not in the brochure - amongst plenty of other differences now...

Yep, my daughter has an Octavia Estate in Rosso Brunello, and over the winter it just looks a dark red. But if its clean when the sun is shining it looks great, so lets hope for a good summer!!

As far as Didescharlie's question, I'm hoping Skoda UK were just waiting for the budget so they could include the correct VED figures, so hopefully they can get a new brochure out for early April. It would be great if it could include the new colours too.

Chris

I read a thread on here a good while ago now where a member had drawn up a list of complaints about the brochure - with which I was nodding my head vigorously. When in my local dealers I grabbed hold of the Yeti Accessories brochure, which does address many of the issues, such as a picture of the non-Bolero radio, and also a decent picture of the 3-spoke wheel (which to my reckoning is basically the vRS wheel without the sporty dotting of the leather).

Thanks for the reply too! :)

Tangerine will be extremely rare, I haven't even seen a Yeti in this colour in the flesh to so speak. Muscavado works brilliantly with the Gobi interior and silver roof rails.

I'm sure we will get swatches in the near future and I think the Yeti will pull off the new colour extremely well.

Hi James

have you heard any news on the 'family' spec seen on the skoda-Auto site? eg folding tables on back of front seats. Might these be available as options in the UK if not a trim level? Thanks

Allegro Vanden Plas anyone?

The Allegro wasn't a bad car especially in VP trim, lovely dash, great seats, pinstripe to die for, plenty of room under the bonnet for the frequent visits there, advanced hydrogas suspension. NO I don't want to buy it!!

Advanced car for it's time...let down by build quality :)

The Issigonis designed 1100/1300 pictured alongside the Allegro was for its time the better car. They sadly suffered both poor build and short lives due to rusting brought about by blocked drains to box section metalwork.

Sorry for straying off thread but I suppose our fathers (and mothers!) got equally excited by the latest new car updates back in the sixties and seventys as we do about 2012 SMs.

Hey you! I am one of those old fogies, got excited then and still getting beside myself with lust for my new Yeti at the grand old age of 60!!:-)

A fellow apprentice studying with me at Tech Col back in the early eighty's had a number of Allegros over the four years we were there. Last one I remember being bright almost luminescent green, which he fitted out with a VP interior from a scrappy. The girlfriend at the time also had a white 1100 that I had to keep patching with fibre glass matting and black under-body paint.

At least we had a car industry then!

Haven't got any information about this spec for the UK market just yet. I will put a note up on here once the information has been announced.

We still have, we just don't own the parent companies anymore. :'(

The 1100/1300 was a truly impressive car. My father-in-law had two All-agro's, the first one was T-boned and written off, the second one did the decent thing and died. He then replaced them with a succession of Maestro's. Still, being from Solihull there was only one place he worked, so he had to drive them...

I rallied and trialed an Austin 1300!!

I learnt to drive in a 1300, excellant car for that, most driving schools had them at the time.

My father bought a brand new 1100 just after they came out. At 18 months old he had a puncture, tried to jack up the car to change the wheel at the roadside and the cill just crumpled instead due to corrosion. He had both the cills replaced and whilst they were off noted that there was no protection at all inside, just bare rusted steel. A little bit more thought on how they were built and this could have been a good car. The replacements, throuroughly sprayed with used oil inside regularly, lasted until he sold it about 6 years later
