roomster 1.2tdi cr

Featured Replies

Hi fellow Roomsters, have just purchased new Roomster 1.2tdi cr. Anyone out there have one yet. Not sure if it is on sale in UK yet. It was the first one the dealer had seen with this engine in Cork Irealnd. Have it only two weeks so have not formed a real opinion on it yet.It is a Comfort model, cruise control, reverse sensors, a/c, front elc windows.MPG looks good at moment, but have not done a real long trip yet.Looking forward to hearing from you guys out there.Have just noticed it has a Black line down the centre of windscreen

Black line on windscreen is part of the ariel for the radio

I have an SE spec Roomster on order the petrol 105 TSI DSG, no idea when I will see it though best guess to date is some time in June, ho hum.

Well my 1.2tdi cr now has 683 miles completed.I am getting 60 miles per gallon at least, have still not pushed the engine too hard.Engine is loosening up very well. Have to lift my foot of pedal as could easily break speed limit sometimes. I think it is a great engine does what it needs to do ,perhaps a little noisy . I dont know if the dpf has come on, the light has not been on so far,so i must be burning it off as I drive, but have not noticed it happening.Great little engine I think.

I was looking at a list of cars to be released in Diesel car and it mentioned the Roomster Greenline II which has not yet been released over here powered by that engine... I wonder if your car is that model?

If it is I would certainly be interested in knowing how it performs, acceleration, MPG and, very importantly cruising on motorways at 70 and 80mph (especially the MPG showing on the computer at those speeds)... Also how it copes with hills when loaded...

Our motability car is coming up for renewal and I was looking at the Fabia Estate Greenline, but the Roomster version may be an alternative if its not too slow!

Hi Briskodian, the car is not the Greenline version as I believe that has Stop/Start,but it would be the same engine, I think, same engine also as in VW Polo BM.I have had 5ltr per 100km on the computer, some town and motorway roads mixed. Cruise control is great and no problems on motorway, except slower traffic.I have not really put my foot down as I am following the running in period (nearly) for the moment. Have not had more than two people in car on my trips as of yet.It is a bit slow on take off but you get used to going through the gears to get it going.I have had all sorts of cars and this one compares very well with any of them. I can definitely feel the engine loosen up as the miles go on, and just gets better and better.I shall be going on longer trips soon and will keep a log of mpg and let you have.

Cheers!
