cruise control retro fit...

its 195 at awesome gti...?

can i do it cheaper myself?

was this going to be retro fit at dealers soon? IIRC someone mentioned

Think someone...can't remember who though...got it done at a Seat dealer for about

Well,

I had mine done at awesome as part of the APR chip process. Horners do send to Awesome, it's not a "hard" job, steering wheel off, wire through bulk head, crimped into plug for ecu and a vag com to enable it.

It's possible to be a DIY, depends, personally I'd let somebody else do it, time v money and all.

looks like I will let awesome do it then....

do you think they would run some stereo cables through the bulkhead for me at the same time?

When Skoda dealers do eventually offer this as a retrofit, I bet its one mod big k won't be using a sledghammer to fit!

Cheers.

Adrian.

I reported a couple of weeks ago that Skoda dealers would be doing it as a retro-fit in the autumn for about

when does autumn start for a skoda dealer....?:(

paul,

i got it done as part of my APR mods - the guys at awesome are very cool - i'm sure they'd oblige if you asked them to do something else.

Paul, The sales manager is a BIG Dr Who fan and has a personal reg plate which is Dr Who related. Apparently there's also a Dalek in his front room aswell...whatever turns you on I suppose. Nice guy though.

Oh and I think his car has the cruise option - vain attempt to bring back on topic;) ;)

not sure haven't heard anything yet would have though i would have because i do some work for skoda parts product technical(fitting retro parts for skoda to see if they can be done/ how long it takes/ any feedback on instrutions etc. don't know if i should say this but a couple of months ago i piloted the fitting of c/c on a fabia it took me 4 hours to do (have to remove steering column to gain access to wire) hence to say this one will not be offered as after market fit.

I'll second that. Had a good chat with him when I picked mine up. He was telling me that he was going to get the new car chipped so got me thinking that he'd be a good guy to have on ones side if I got mine done and had any warranty issues.

I believe he has arranged for brand new cars to be chipped for some customers before they even pick them up, so yes, should be no problems with the warranty. Jimmy, you came from Durham to get a new vRS in Dumfries ? :o
