60K mile service at skoda

Featured Replies

Popped to skoda today to grab some centre caps for my alloys and while i was there i thought id ask about a service (due soon).

He said on the 60k service the brake fluid needs changing and the pollen filter, fair enough. With a general service he quoted me £261 inc VAT.

He then offered me the 2 year service plan for £299, bargain i thought!! Id get the service above plus next years oil and filter change, which he said would cost me £120, so a saving of £82.

BUT if an oil and filter change costs £120 that means they want £141 to change the brake fluid and pollen filter!!!(£261)

Any advice welcome :)

I always thought the brake fluid was every 2 years? The pollen filter costs about £10-£15 max, and any 6 y/o could fit it on the Fabia. It's in the passenger footwell, and just slides in/out.

At 60k, isn't your cambelt due too?

I think the fluid is due, still got to find the service paperwork out to check, and yeah the belt was due, but i had it done before xmas along with the water pump to be on the safe side. :)

Im thinking he must have added something else onto the bill, like an MOT or something because he used my Reg number and the mot is up next month.

I use these http://www.thevwaudispecialists.co.uk/, I have used them for services and my timing belt, no problems, better than the birmingham dealers thats for sure. If you use them please tell them I recommended them to you.

Cheers for the link, looks like a good company/service. 1 main problem they are about 45mins away from me. There are a few places like that by me but because my fabia has full skoda history id like to keep it that way. Think ill give skoda a ring and confirm the price!
