juddering at idle

Featured Replies

fabia has recently started juddering at idle badly been into skoda on there tech machine and they have played with the idle reducing it to 770rpm, and increasing to 840rpm and 880rpm.

ive done compression check on engine and all came back at around 260

ive measured the amount of fuel going in at idle :

cyl 1: 0,64 grams

cyl 2:-0.54 grams

cyl 3:0.0 grams

cyl 4:0.12 grams

anyone else suggest any tests it has only recently started doing this in past week or so has been nice and smooth. ive had this judder before and that turned out to be the dual mass flywheel at fault.

judder is only at idle as soon as any throttle is applied then its stops.

are the revs fluctuating at idle or is it just juddering?

And what happened when the flywheel was found at fault, and how long ago was this? Any chance if a replacement was fitted, its gone too? Is the car tuned hard?

car has had new flywheel not long ago and its under warranty at skoda. its been back and they are trying to mess around with the idle to stop the juddering.

the revs remain at around 800rpm no fluctuation. if driven gently there will be no juddering when i come to idle but if ive had to overtake on the motorway and use the torque then it will judder when at idle

really weird one thought id done the head gasket in but compressions are bang on.

the car engine wise is completely standard all that has been changed is the front bushes for powerflex and a super pro dog bone mount. its none of these as its not a vibration its a defiant judder

Does sound like a flywheel fault.
