Wipers stopped working on the top speed setting

Featured Replies

HI there, Today when its obviously chucking it down in the Lake district my wipers have stopped working on the quickest setting, flick the switch and nothing!, work OK on the slower setting and intermittent, but the rain is proper heavy!!!

Any ideas??

Could be a dirty contact, try spraying some electric contacts cleaner or similar solvent based cleaner into the switch.

Check also that the leaver isnt obstructed by anything when it is moved into the high possition, if you hold it in place is anything happening.

Alternativly pull over and wait for the rain to stop :)

Tried holding the switch in the fast setting nothing at all, cleaned out switch at lunch and still nothing happening.

Its usually the wiper relay under the dash - the contacts get dirty,if you remove it and clean the contacts then it will work a bit longer or you can buy another and replace it,its about the size of a double relay and after removing the trim directly above the pedals you will find it top right with 377 on it,replacement part number for mine was 4B0 955 531 E Cheers - Stuart B)
