Collected my new car

Featured Replies

Hi people,

Picked up the new vRS yesterday and already done 60 miles

A small review.

Performance nice linear power feels quicker than the one I had for 20 minutes on the test drive. I've had alot of quick cars Focus RS MK2, Focus ST but for some reason this feels better.....bringing me onto

The build quality MILES better than any of my previous cars seems nice and solid!

Ride quality firm and very comfortable a tad high, needs lowering.

Doesnt sound like a diesel. That was a negative point for me when I was looking at the CR but it is refined and quiet.

Currently on 46MPG which I thing is brilliant (I'm used to low 20's sometimes single figures!) not ragged the car a few short blast and only 60 miles on the clock mainly on dual carrieways.

DSG is awesome when I initially went into Skoda to ordered the Octavia I was adament I wanted a Petrol manaul vRS, after taking the salesmans CR DSG out I was sold and had to have one. After use last night and today I have to say its brilliant would reccomend it to anyone.

ALOT of car for the £16000 I paid for it and I can see me keepng this for longer than the usual 6 months before I get bored and change.

Pics to follow.

No bad points spring to mind at the moment.

Canbus LED interior/number bulbs will be hopefully fitted tomorrow. And thinking of having it lowered and changing the wheel colour

Is it possible with the VCDS to make the DRL brighter when they are on sidelights?

Tim

Happy new car mate.

Looking forward to the snaps.

Also get your motor sealed as soon as you can.

I assume you did'nt let the valeters anywhere near it with their glass filled sponges?

I use this stuff. Perfect for a white motor. :)

Wow! How did you get it so cheap! How long did you have to wait?

The Werkstat Acrylic Kit is supposed to be good on a white car, I've bought it for my white VRS although I haven't had the chance to use it yet (this weekend hopefully).

I bought the kit online from Polished Bliss and it arrived via courier a couple of days later. Both Polished Bliss and the Werkstat kit come highly recommended on the Detailing World forum.

White, yep, that's the cool choice.

:p

Good luck with the numberplate bulbs, I've tried many so called can friendly ones and none work.

Great choice of colour!

Thanks for the comments. I'll post pictures at the weekend. Bulbs are in and touch wood they are all working no fault lights etc.

I got it for £16k whilst the vat offer was on I played 2 dealers off against each other and got that price the car was ordered in October.

Thanks

Tim

Was the 6 month wait was worth it ?

Mine was when i picked it up just after boxing day ( 2010)

:wait: I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the door marker lights are Canbus monitored

Well done Rob. Here at last!

Can check DRL brightness on VCDS at some point.

On the CANBUS lighting, yes - as Chris says, it's just the external stuff that's monitored, for safety reasons so you know when something important has failed.

Absolute utter bargain for the money emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Which ones did you fit as the led plate lights?

Got all the bulbs off the Internet from a company called carmodshop I think it was
