Vibrating Noise In Headlining

Featured Replies

Guys,

The last few weeks i've noticed a very high frequency vibration coming from the headlining (confirmed by a few people sitting front and back), at first I though it vould be the ariel wire for example but I dont even think it runs along the roof of the cabin. It started as being fairly intermittent but its now happening almost constant, anyone had this/heard of this or got any ideas??

Cheers

Press against the courtest / map lights. Does it go away? If it does, it's probably the alarm sensor has come loose and is rattling about up there. I had the same thing... (with bass hits though, not constant).

I've had the courtesy light out and the alarm sensor casing had come off so put it back on but it still happens, i'll have another look to amke sure its still on though. Do you know if there are any wires going back along the headlining becuase to me it sounds like a wire or something vibrating of the roof.

I'm not sure about that, sorry :( I'm not sure who has removed the roof lining on here to be able to tell you. Possibly "devonutopia" (Jason)? Even if he hasn't, he might know who has.

The casing hadn't come off for me (! yikes !), it had just come unstuck and was rattling about. I just needed to wedge it in with a couple of bits of foam and I haven't had a problem with it since.

Interested to know what you find. I hate rattles!

My interior light was rattling, turned out to be the metal spring clips that hold the clear plastic up, just stuck a bit of super glue on it to hold it still. That fixed it for me

The rattle i had turned out to be the grab handle vibrating

This is the only one I hear all the time, other ones i've managed to fix but just trying to identify this one is proving difficult

I just bought a new courtesy light so I dont think its that, it seems to be coming from behind me rather than infront

How did you solve the problem, were they not screwed in properly or was the handle itself vibrating on the plastic parts that hold it into the roof? I might remove my rear ones and see if makes a difference.

Any more ideas guys?
